principle vice-presidencies of the Research Center, consisting of four following areas:

- Research Planning and Supervision
- Graduate Studies
- Relation to Industry
- Library,Documentation Center and Information Technology


The most important duties and activities of this vice-presidency are as follows:

-Make any necessary review and decisions about planning research and educational activities of the Research Center;
-Evaluate and supervise research and educational activities; evaluate the performance of the departments under supervision;
-Supervise good performance of observing the regulations and bylaws governing research, technology, education, library, and databases of the Research Center;
-Hold the meetings of the Research, Technology and Graduate Studies Council;
-Hold the meetings of the managers of the departments under supervision;
-Properly use scientific and technical capacities of the Research Center towards implementing the applied projects and providing counseling services to the country's industries;
-Prepare the research program of the Research Center; set research goals and priorities in the framework of mid-term and long-term plans; support the establishment of growth and entrepreneurship centers, and science and technology parks;
-Supervise providing scientific-research and education services; hold scientific and research seminars and conferences;
-Codify bylaws and instructions, and set the agenda relating to the vice-presidency's duties;
-Communicate all aprovals, regulations, and bylaws to the relevant departments, and follow up and supervise their good performance;
-Develop, reinforce, and direct the approved research projects while giving the priority to the targeted applied researches based on the country's development plans vision;
-Plan for the faculty members to use the study opportunities in Iran and other countries;
-Plan the activities and suggest annual research budget of the vice-presidency according to the priorities approved by the Research Center.
